Governor – Georgia Hendry

My name is Georgia Hendry and I am a Co-opted Governor on the Curriculum and Standards committee. I have worked with children and young people in various capacities since 2019.

I am a learning officer at The Auckland Project, my role focuses on the delivery of curriculum linked, formal workshops which aim to raise attainment and aspirations and develop a sense of pride of place. I am passionate about the importance of cultural capital to improve the lives of young people in the North East. Through this role, I have a close relationship with Aclet Close Nursery School. A particular highlight has been providing a venue for Mini-Graduation and joining staff, parents and families in celebrating their young people’s achievements.

In my career I have gained lots of knowledge of working with Nurseries through to Universities, and have experience working with children and young people with additional needs. I specialise in Primary Education and have a keen interest in outdoor learning (I am currently establishing a forest school programme!)

My background is in museums and heritage; I have an undergraduate degree in History. I enjoy learning and continue to undertake training courses to develop skills in new areas. In my spare time I love travelling and spending time with friends and family. I am a cub leader at a scout group in Darlington and enjoy camping and spending time outdoors.
