My name is Dina Mahmoud and I was appointed as a Co-opted Governor in March 2021. The majority of my own education spanned the south and north of England. I attended secondary and further education locally between Bishop Auckland, Hurworth, Darlington, and Durham.
My higher education is in law. Since graduating, and after a short break due to ill health, I have had a few support roles in public health and social care and in law. My current plan is to make a change to a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
My journey into youth development began as a local youth during secondary school by volunteering at the local youth service. During my higher education, I further volunteered as a young adult at local children’s clubs through my university’s volunteer local youth support society and on a financial literacy project through my law school’s local outreach programme.
I am returning to volunteering in youth development at Aclet Close Nursery School, where I hope to be able to contribute by refreshing my skills and gaining new ones.
