Governor – Lucy Taylor

My name is Lucy Taylor and having grown up in Weardale and then returning to make my family home in the area, I have a personal understanding about how our community suffers from poor infrastructure, and a lack of opportunities with many people living in rural poverty and isolation. But we are a resilient and passionate community and I am proud to call this home.

As an experienced Event Manager, Producer and Educator I have over 15 years experience of working creatively and administratively in the arts, with a solid understanding of the cultural sector and its connection with lifelong learning. I am passionate about supporting cultural opportunities in my local community particularly for children and young people to help raise aspirations and create a love of lifelong learning.

I find Aclet Close Nursery to be a beacon of light. The environment is rich and varied and the staff are like a large extended family. I strive to support their vision for curious children.
