My name is Sabrina Hughes and I am a Parent Governor. I have lived in Bishop Auckland my whole life. I am a mum to two young girls, my eldest is attending Aclet Close Nursery. She is having a wonderful time, from the conversations I have with her, you can tell the children are safe, engaged and challenged in their learning. She has taken part in some fantastic extra curriculum activities such as the King’s Coronation Party and the Seaside Visit. These events, which take a lot of planning by staff, are creating life long memories and a love of learning, and as a parent I am very happy.
Professionally I completed my teaching degree at Durham University and have taught within a local Primary School since 2014. I feel the skills I can bring from my teaching post as KS1 teacher and acting SENCO will be beneficial to the Governing Body but I hope to gain experience for my own teaching practise, as we don’t have a Nursery attached so I am looking forward to being involved.
