My name is Paula Barion and I have spent most of my working years in Education. I began my career as a Nursery Nurse working for 21 years in a large Primary School. I consider myself to be a life-long learner and have completed a degree in Early Childhood Studies as well as Teacher Training – a PGCE in Primary Education. I have taught children across all 3 key stages of Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 over the last 17 years and have also been a Lead Teacher, Subject Leader and Mentor for students and teacher trainees. I have experience of leading staff and managing a substantial budget.
During my whole career I have had a passion for early learning and believe that it is one of the most important aspects of a child’s development, laying the foundations for the educational and life journeys our children will embark on throughout their lives.
In the last year I have semi-retired and have worked as a Supply Teacher in a number of schools including Aclet Close Nursery School. Here, I have seen children blossom and thrive; both of my grandchildren have attended. We believe that the children have had some wonderful experiences and it is clear that the Nursery team are committed and dedicated to ensuring good outcomes for young children and their families.
